Reimagining and Reconstructing the Renaissance Banquet 23-26 March 2022

Stanford University and the Center for Renaissance Studies in Tours organize an interdisciplinary workshop on Reimagining and Reconstructing the Renaissance Banquet. Scholars and students from both institutions will work together for four days to study and reconstruct a spectacular banquet which took place in Tours in 1457. Analysis of historical sources, visits to XVth centuries kitchen and places in the Loire Valley castles, comparison of methodologies in the fields of history, architecture, music, dance, gastronomy, medicine, history of science and technics, and their application to the reconstruction will offer new research perspectives to work on interdisciplinary topics.

A public presentation will conclude the workshop.

This project is supported by the France-Stanford Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies, the CESR and the Ricercar Lab.

    You actually make it appear so easy along with your presentation but I find this
    matter to be really one thing which I think I would never understand.
    It seems too complicated and very huge for me. I am looking ahead for your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
